We are pleased to share the winning essays from our recent Dolphinarium Essay Competition which was opened to Primary (Grades 5 & 6) and Secondary School students. This activity formed part of the Trust’s ongoing advocacy campaign to raise awareness about the impacts of the establishment of the proposed dolphinarium on the island. The competition sought to give students the opportunity to write an essay for or against the proposed dolphinarium guided by the topic: Dolphin Park or No Dolphin Park - What are your views?
All entries were judged anonymously by three SLNT Members – Jane King Hippolyte, Dr. Marie-Louise Felix and Lucius Doxerie. The competition served to enhance the Trust’s efforts to engage with the youth and the essays will be used to help shape our messages towards children regarding the dolphinarium matter. The Trust is thankful to Digicel, Captain Mike’s and Taxi for providing a plethora of amazing prizes for the following winners:
