The Saint Lucia National Trust was established on September 26, 1975. To commemorate this anniversary the Trust usually plans a series of activities at one or more of its sites. In 2010, we held an open day at the Pigeon Island National Landmark. The entrance fee was waived, the staff dressed in period costumes and local cultural artistes were invited to perform. In 2011, the celebration was moved from Pigeon Island to the newly acquired Morne Pavillon, and the Pointe Sable Environmental Protection Area. On Saturday, September 24th, over 60 persons were treated to a sunset tour of Morne Pavillon. The following day, the Trust headed down south to host a family fun day at Pointe Sable beach, that included an exhibition on the Protected Area.
