![]() About Us The Saint Lucia National Trust is a statutory body established in 1975 for the specific purpose of preserving buildings, objects of historic and architectural interest and areas of natural beauty together with their animal and plant life, for present and future generations. Today the Trust has over 600 members and is continuing to grow. The affairs of the Trust are administered by a Council comprising: seven members elected by the general membership; two representatives of the Saint Lucia Archaeological & Historical Society; two members nominated by the Minister responsible for the National Trust. The Council has established committees that are responsible for certain aspects of its work (i.e. Finance, Membership, Research and Publication). These committees enable the Council to function more efficiently. The Trust also employs a staff who manage, administer and otherwise implement the policies, programmes and projects approved by Council. It is the responsibility of the Trust to manage parks, nature reserves and historical and archaeological sites, either owned or vested in them and to provide recreational and educational opportunities within these areas for residents and visitors. The Saint Lucia National Trust is a non-profit organization and all revenues received are used for the conservation of the natural and cultural heritage of Saint Lucia.
